SAYING the Things We Say—BUT—DOING What We Know We Mustn’t Do . . . Yes, Usually.

SAYING the Things We Say—BUT—DOING the Exact Opposite . . . Yes, Daily.

What Must We Do?

What We—Must Do!

We KNOW the Answer to These Faith & Discipleship Questions.

SPEAK—the Things We Are to Say—AND—Then DO—What We Know We Must Do!

Today, there is a melody sung by Third Day we may need to pause and listen to, so we are reminded to “Slow Down,” to give our day, our minutes and hours, our calendars & our plans—to Almighty God.

We SAY—

“I’m a big girl.”

“I don’t need your help.”

“Just let me do what I want to do, once, please.”

“Can’t you see that I am self-sufficient and I don’t need any assistance.”

“I am all grown-up, you know.”

“I’ve got this.”

“Go help someone who needs Your help.”

Do we hear ourselves speaking these words—OR—Do we see ourselves living these words?

Can we truthfully say that any of the above statements have never come from our mouths?

Why do we think that just because we are above the “magical” age of eighteen (or even twenty-one) that we are totally self-sufficient and beyond the need for another’s help?

Why do we Seek to—“DO IT” All Alone & “GO IT” Totally On Our Own—This LIFE-THING?

Maybe on this day, we should pause and ask ourselves:  WHY?

Why do we desire to—find our own way—OR—make our own plan—OR—do our own thing—OR—live our own life without the guidance of another?

Yes, maybe today this is the most beautiful time to pause and ask ourselves these serious questions.

We will be amazed to SEE the TRUTH of what Almighty God has to SAY!

Self-serving & self-sufficient & self-living is NOT GOD’S WAY.

SEE WITH ME THE HOLY WORD of GOD!

“The plans of the heart belong to man,

But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.

All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight,

But the LORD weighs the motives.

Commit your works to the LORD

And your plans will be established.”

(Proverbs 16: 1-3)

What would the LORD have us Do today?

What would the LORD have us NOT Do today?

What would the LORD have us Speak today?

What would the LORD have us NOT Speak today?

Where would the LORD have us Go today?

Where would the LORD have us NOT Go today?

Where would the LORD Send us today & With whom would He have us help?

Where would the LORD NOT Send us today & Where would the LORD have us avoid?

If we only ponder the WHAT & the WHERE questions (but not the WHO, the WHEN, the WHY, and the HOW) we have plenty to consider for this one single life-day.

And, truly, we don’t even need to consider the answer to these questions—WE ALREADY KNOW THE CORRECT ANSWER!

SEE WITH ME the words Solomon was led by the Spirit of God to write:

“But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.”

&

“But the LORD weighs the motives.

& We Must

Commit your works to the LORD

And your plans will be established.”

(Proverbs 16: 1-3)

We Do NOT—Need to Ever Question God’s Will—

• What we must Do!
• What we must NOT Do!
• What we must Say!
• What we must NOT Say!
• Where we must Go!
• Where we must NOT Go!
• Where God Sends us!
• Where He Does NOT Send US!

Quite possibly, we have just been guilty of DOING What We Want To Do . . . Yes, Maybe.

Quite possibly, we have just been guilty of DOING Our Own Thing . . . Yes, Probably.

Quite possibly, we have just been guilty of DOING What We Know We Mustn’t Do . . . Yes, Usually.

Quite possibly, we have just been guilty of DOING the Exact Opposite . . . Yes, Daily.

Quite possibly, we have just been guilty of SAYING the Things We Want To Say.

SPEAK the Things We Are to Say—AND—Then DO What We Know We Must Do!

GOD IS WISE!

GOD IS POWERFUL!

GOD IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL!

GOD IS ALL THINGS!

We are not !!!!!!!!!

GOD IS IN CONTROL!

GOD’S PLAN IS FOR ALL TO KNOW HIM!

GOD’S WILL IS FOR ALL TO FOLLOW HIM!

GOD’S WILL IS FOR HIS CREATION TO OBEY HIS LEADING!

We are not in control !!!!!!!!!

We did not birth ourselves & We will not secure our own eternity.

We do not cause the sun to rise or the moon to set.

We do not create the breath inside our lungs or our heart to beat.

We are not in control of anything!!!!!

Who controls the universe?

Well, there really isn’t any other response than—GOD DOES!

GOD CONTROLS ALL THINGS !!!!!!!!!

THE LORD DOES !!!!!!!!!!!

THE FATHER & THE CREATOR DOES !!!!!!!!!!!

We need Yahweh.

We need YHWH!

We NEED God!!!!!!!

We NEED the LORD!!!!!!!

Bible theologian Charles H. Spurgeon said:

“The Christian believes God to be too wise to err and too good to be unkind;

He trusts Him where he cannot trace Him [trusts GOD],

Looks up to Him in the darkest hour [looks to our LORD],

And believes that all is well [with GOD’S control & direction of our life].”

Most assuredly, God’s Got THIS—OUR LIFE!

In the Bible, the prophet Isaiah was led by the Spirit of God to say it this way:

The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace,

Because he trusts in You.

Trust in the LORD forever,

For in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock.”

(Isaiah 26: 3-4)

May we HANG onto the perfect peace—today.

May we BE LED by the everlasting Rock—today.

May we TRUST OUR LORD—TODAY!

YES, MAY WE TRUST OUR LORD—FOREVERMORE!
