The Question: What Is My Heart’s Desire—Today?
Daily, we are given a CHOICE—GOD—1st Place; Preeminent OR Myself—1st.
Clearly, every solitary day stands alone on the calendar of time with that one CHOICE.
Once we gather together 31 or 30 (or 28 or 29 if we think of February) then we have strung together a string of days, weeks to create a month. If we consistently focus upon our own flesh more than God for several weeks, before we even realize the passage of time, we have wasted a full year (52 weeks; 365 solitary days) focused upon our flesh rather than God.
This is the REASON for the Season of Advent, the time when we celebrate the birth of the babe in the manger. I offer today that we also look at this season as a new beginning, a time to put to death a selfishness the devil so desires to see with us. Did you catch that—the DEVIL desires!
Help us who believe, who call Jesus, LORD—–never give the devil what he desires!!!!!!!!
NO! MAY WE NEVER GIVE TO THE DEVIL HIS DESIRE!
The devil desires that we have no room for Jesus.
The devil desires that we have no room for God.
The devil desires that we have no room to follow God’s Holy Spirit.
The devil—-DESIRES—-to steal, to kill, and to destroy our witness. The Bible tells us so.
The devil cannot have our soul because as a believer, as a Christ-follower, as a Christian, OUR SOUL BELONGS TO GOD!!!!!!!!!!
Let us today, this solitary one day, give to God the rest of Us—Our HEART, Our MIND, & Our STRENGTH, Along With Our SOUL.
When we do, then we leave no room for the devil to move in, to take up residence in our being.
Yes, it is a Daily War, not a skirmish, a tussle, or a disagreement.
It Is A Daily Battle & A Daily War within our earthly flesh!!!!!!!!!!!
The Questions: What Is My Heart’s Desire? & Who will win this battle, this war?—-TODAY!!!!!
Do not believe my words but read with me God’s Word.
Inspired by God’s Holy Spirit, the Apostle Paul wrote—
“Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
(Romans 8: 1-8)
For the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin, and of death.
For what the law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, GOD DID: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,
So that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so,
And those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”
Sinful Flesh Is NOT = to a Godly Spirit.
Disobedient Flesh Is NOT= to an Obedient Christ-Centered Spirit.
Flesh-Focused Living Is Death.
Christ-Centered Living Is Life & Peace.
“because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, . . .” (verse 7).
In fact, the mind cannot!
In fact, “for it [the mind] is not even able to do so, . . .” (verse 7).
Those who allow their days, their weeks, their months, and their years to be ruled by the FLESH “cannot please God.” (verse 8).
Hallelujah!!!! The very next words are “HOWEVER, you”—-As In “BUT you”—-
“However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.
(Romans 8: 9)
But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.”
THE BIBLE TELLS US SO!!!!!!!
The written Word of God continues by saying—-
Christ in Us Is = To—We Have A Body, Dead to sin.
Anyone Who Does Not Have Christ, Then That Person Does Not Belong to God.
Have Christ Is = To A Body Dead to Sin & A Spirit That Is Alive.
WHY……..“because of righteousness” (verse 10).
And PRAISE—GOD!!!!!!
Since God raised Jesus from the dead &
Since Christ Jesus dwells in us!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s Right.
“BUT IF THE SPIRIT OF HIM WHO RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD DWELLS IN YOU, HE WHO RAISED CHRIST JESUS FROM THE DEAD WILL ALSO GIVE LIFE TO YOUR MORTAL BODIES THROUGH HIS SPIRIT WHO DWELLS IN YOU.”
(ROMANS 8: 11)
It takes a daily decision to place Christ Jesus—First.
It takes us making wise decisions Every Day, deciding Who will rule—our day & our time.
It takes a Daily Focus to lead others to see—Jesus the Messiah as a babe & the Reason for the Season.
It is a Daily Decision to Not become caught in the hectic time of this season But to Instead—Focus upon the Real Peace.
As we rush around through our Lives & our Days, let us SLOW DOWN & MAKE ROOM for JESUS, placing our eyes, our FOCUS upon the Only One Worthy of Our Time!!!!!!!!
May we DAILY be aware: Are we giving the devil what he desires? OR Are we giving God our everything?!!!!!
