LET US NOT WORRY…ABOUT ANYTHING!!!
“I’m worried that ___________________.”
Let us each stop right there and fill in the blank. In fact, we may need 39 blanks OR 156 blanks OR 247 blanks OR why even stop there—Let us have a blank for every day of the year—365 __________ to record that which we are most worried about—-Today. In truth, we may gather “worries” more than we gather anything else. We may even say things such as:
I am not worried, only concerned BUT ARE WE SPEAKING THE TRUTH? (OR)
I am praying about this worry, this concern BUT ARE WE REALLY TAKING OUR WORRY TO GOD DOWN UPON OUR KNEES? (OR)
I am not worried, only talking through something BUT ARE WE TALKING AND TALKING AND TALKING A WORRY WHEN WE SHOULD INSTEAD BE GIVING OUR WORRY TO GOD?
A TRUTH.
Worry cannot add anything to the situation.
Worry can only STEAL from us.
Worry STEALS our joy.
Worry STEALS our sleep.
Worry STEALS our witness.
Worry STEALS & controls our thoughts.
Worry STEALS our time.
Worry STEALS.
BUT GOD GIVES!
That’s right. A TRUTH.
God GIVES!
GOD GIVES PEACE!
GOD GIVES JOY!
GOD GIVES COMFORT!
GOD GIVES ETERNAL SALVATION!
GOD GIVES PRESENT-DAY SUSTAINMENT AS HE PROVIDES EVERYTHING WE NEED!
ON & ON & ON & ON & ON & . . .
Every person who ever walked the face of the earth has faced challenging seasons of life. In the Old Testament, we can read so many instances. BUT THE LORD, THE CREATOR of ALL PEOPLE SAYS,
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you,
(Isaiah 43: 1-3)
I have called you by name; you are Mine!
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they will not overthrow you.
When you walk through the fires, you will not be scorched,
Nor will the flame burn you.
For I am the LORD you God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; . . .”
We are not here long! Our life on earth is so brief.
If we have given our heart to Christ. . .
(Isaiah 43: 1-3)
If we call God, “Father”. . .
If we call Jesus, “LORD”. . .
If we walk by faith and not by sight, as we trust God’s Holy Spirit. . .
Then we know the wisdom, peace, and joy—-GOD GIVES!
Tauren Wells sings a beautiful melody called “Citizen of Heaven” to remind us of where we are going, what we are receiving, and how we must be living as we journey forward (through this day, through this season, and through this brevity of life). Listen today and remember.
Read today God’s Word and remember.
“Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down,
(Proverbs 12: 25-26)
But a good word makes it glad.
The righteous is a guide to his neighbor,
But the way of the wicked leads them astray.”
Thank You God for neighbors, for others who walk with us, who encourage us with remembrance of YOU.
Thank You God for neighbors, for others You have GIVEN to us to walk beside today, who we may encourage with remembrance of YOU.
