May We HUG…..Today
I love to HUG; maybe you too, love to HUG. I love to wrap my arms tightly around those I love and who love me, for the sole purpose of soaking up every bit of love to be found within the simple pleasure of their HUG.
Certainly, distance away from another keeps us from HUGGING because it’s nearly impossible to physically HUG another through an iPad screen 5,500 miles apart from one another.
Certainly, fear and the onslaught of the Coronavirus in 2020 made HUGGING an impossibility, especially when we were isolated and separated in separate locations.
Certainly, daily distractions and lack of caring for others keep us from engaging in life-giving, Christ-led HUGS.
HUGGING. Not the passing, flimsy armed, halfhearted type of HUGGING, but the full bodied, hold on tight, sense the peace——HUG!
Are you a HUGGER?
True, we cannot always walk up and down the sidewalks of our hometowns, randomly wrapping our arms around those we call strangers; yet, maybe we can do just that—-HUG Strangers—-As we go throughout our day.
In order to HUG strangers, people we do not intimately know, we simply need to ask a single question—-What am I doing to help someone else?
Living our lives, not so self-centered, but living to give, fully aware of those who surround us, who need our help, our HUG—-That’s what God calls us to do, as we go.
There are so many individuals we will encounter today who need us. Yes, they are out there, walking through life, walking beside us, sitting beside us at work, needing us, needing our HUG, needing what only God can offer.
Our task—-LOOK AS WE GO & LISTEN TO THE LEADING OF GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT & RESPOND AS WE LIVE TO GIVE, AS WE LIVE TO HELP OTHERS.
God wlll lead us to someone today; will we obey?
God will reveal a hurting person who needs His touch; will we allow this person to see Jesus through us?
People everywhere need GOD, need His touch, need His change, and need His loving arms found through a GOD-LED HUG.
We can be the one to receive God’s blessing as He leads us to help others, OR We cannot receive God’s gift of His blessing found in helping another. Clearly the choice is totally ours to make.
Do not believe me but believe God’s Word.
“The generous man will be prosperous,
(2 Timothy 2: 24-26)
And he who waters will himself be watered.” (Proverbs 11:25)
And again…
“The Lord’s bond-servant [that’s US—BELIEVERS] must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.”
People need the LORD.
People need HUGS.
People need help only God can provide.
People need the Salvation of God found through Jesus.
People need us to walk within God’s leading, purposely searching as we go, looking for ways to HUG them in Jesus’ name.
People need the LORD.
As we walk through this single day God has granted us to breathe and live, may we be the arms and hands and feet of Jesus, searching for those we may help.
May we live to HUG OTHERS…..IN JESUS NAME.
