The answer……Pause and search out this answer where truth can be found……the Word of God.
Hebrews 4: 12-13.

Walk with me back in time.  I was young, seventeen.  Darrell too.  We were hanging out, attending ballgames, eating at Long John Silvers, and enjoying just being “best friends.”
Back in high school, I was never the kind of girl who had a best “girl” friend, and so, when we fell into a “best friendship” relationship, it truly was a beautiful time of life.

Then the expected occurred.
Then he reacted as most guys I know reacted.
He wanted to NOT be friends but date.
But…….therein was the problem because Darrell was not a believer, and even though I was a baby believer, barely two years into my walk with Christ, still I knew enough to know that I needed to date a Christian, I WANTED to marry a Christian.

That’s when Darrell began attending church with me, sitting beside me, and getting involved.  Life was fun.  We grew even closer, and still he would say, ” I don’t want to date anyone else. I want to date you.”
So, I did what any girl would do, and I introduced him to another girl, one he actually began to date.  Perfect.
Then they stopped dating, and we picked up right where we left off, before those dates with her (the other girl).

Do we believe God’s Word?
Do we believe it’s the inspired Word of God, given to mankind from God Himself?
I do.
I DO………BELIEVE!!!

And it took this best friend, this boy, and a passage of Scripture to help me, a seventeen-year-old, begin to see this revelation.
My pastor (Bro. Jim) and a persecutor of the early Christians (the Apostle Paul) revealed this truth, this revelation to me. The Apostle Paul wrote these words of encouragement to a young preacher (Timothy) words that also helped reveal this truth to me.

There has to be a first…..

  • A first date.
  • A first kiss.
  • A first holding of hands.
  • A first love.
  • A first memorized passage from the Bible.

Darrell and I memorized these words together…..AFTER…..he accepted Christ Jesus as his Savior.  The time was November 1983, and we fell in love…..with God and with one another.
Today, I share my first memorized Scripture (our first Bible passage) with you, verses that remain buried, still today, deep in my mind and heart.

In my Bible study time earlier today, I was reminded of this fact, of this truth, and I remembered.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;  so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3: 16-17)

God’s Word changes us.
God’s Word changes hearts and minds and lives and eternal destinations.
God’s Word changed me, & God’s Word changed my soon-to-be husband.

God’s Word continues to change me, to change us.

Forevermore, God gave me Darrell, and He gave me Him through His Holy Word

Thank You God……for ALL the ways you have unfolded my life. Thank you for my life-journey that began with You when Your Holy Spirit led me to say, “Yes, LORD, I believe.  I admit You are the Only Way.” Thank You for the path of confession, for the covering of my sins with the shed blood of Your Son, Jesus. Thank You God……for saving my soul.

It is a TRUTH. “All Scripture is inspired by God….”
ALL…………………….!

Today, I leave you with God’s Word, recorded by Paul, written in a letter to a young pastor (Timothy).

Truly, the Bible IS the INSPIRED Word of God.

“You however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 3: 14-5)

Never underestimate the power of God’s Word
NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! …
