A walk through life toward eternity

Let Us Stop Playing At Being His

The Bible reveals so much to us.

“Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped.

But emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond servant, and being made in the likeness of men.

Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of JESUS EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

(Philippians 2: 5-11)

God does not want us to just “play” like we are His.

God sent His only Son to provide a way, the only way, to know Him.

When I was a child, I was selfish, and still, that ugly head likes to rear-up and be seen.  It is at times like that when I need God most.  Truly, there are just two kinds of children—selfish children of the dark and God’s children who live within His light.  It is there, in that thought, where I seek to remain because the world tells us to be selfish, to want what we want, to do what we want to do, to seek what we wish to seek, to play and to not heed God’s call upon our lives.

Yes, we can live for ourselves.

OR

  • We can live for our Savior who humbled Himself and left the glory of heaven just so we could come to know Him.
  • We are given the perfect example of humility.
  • We are given the perfect example of servanthood.
  • We are given the perfect example of how to live as God’s child.
  • We can “play-act” like we are God’s children
  • OR
  • We can Be God’s and Follow His Will for our Every Day.

Let us stop playing at being His.

Let us stop playing at being a child of God.

Let us become serious in our Bible study, even when the world sees us as foolish.

Let us bow our heads at mealtime, in thanksgiving, even when the world sees us as foolish.

Let us pray in all things, seeking God’s will always, even when the world sees us as foolish.

Let us know that our prayers will not stop with our death, but let us remember that our petitions and praises live on……even after our death.

Let us be serious in our witness to the lost world who is dying from within.

LET US STOP PLAYING AT BEING GOD’S CHILD.

LET US STOP TODAY.
