How Much Is It Worth?
How much time do you have to give?
How much money can you spare to give?
How much?
A little. Some. Maybe a half a day OR Maybe a half a day’s wage.
How much?
Walk with me today. Yes, grab our sandals, strap them on our feet, and let’s go. Are you ready? One mile. Two miles. Possibly Even Three. How far are we willing to go?
Many years ago, we bought a house and a few acres, a house I had admired for years. Every day, when I drove toward our current house (one we rented), I would slow down as I passed “my dream place,” not really knowing or expecting to actually live there, but still so hopeful that maybe I would….one day….live there!
What price would God say is “the worth” of a child?
Indescribable!
Unfathomable!
Priceless!
All the above!!!
Go back with me (for a moment) to see this dream house I wanted to own. Most days I drove by the house, wishful, hoping to own this white-sided home that sat in the sharp “S” curve. Yet, on one particular day, as I drove by, there it was, an unimaginable gift for my eyes to see—–the For Sale sign—–planted there in the front yard. Truly, I almost wrecked my car that day, craning my neck to see “it all.” I drove through the curve and headed—toward our rental home just a mile down the road—toward the place where we had lived for the past ten years—toward a place where we were content to live (for a time)—toward a home where we had grown up, where we had moved from our twenties and into our thirties—&—toward the current home that was ours, but not really ours to claim.
My dream home—Mine to Desire. Mine to Gain. Mine to Claim. Could this really be a dream come true?
“I want to buy the house,” I exclaimed aloud, as I flew in the back door and into the kitchen.
“What house?” my husband replied.
“The house! My house! You know the one I mean. Mr. Richardson’s house. I want to call the realtor today, get us an appointment to talk to the owner. Please say yes,” I begged, already making plans for how we would see it tomorrow, buy it, and move into my dream home……soon.
As I prepare to post today’s blog, the sun is beginning to shine, and the new day is taking shape. We called the realtor; we walked through my “dream home” looking at all the potential, all the hope that could be found in living there; & then we were given the opportunity to buy that home, the one I had always dreamed of owning.
How much time do you have to give?
How much money can you spare to give?
How much of “YOU” will you give……….Today?
How far are we willing to go to witness to someone who is still lost?
If asked, what price would God name as a lost child’s worth?
TRULY……What is the price, “the worth,” the cost of a lost one’s soul?
Indescribable!
Unfathomable!
Priceless!
All the above!!!
“Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness;
God Gave Most…….Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God.
For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God.
Because of the proof given by this ministry, they will glorify God for your obedience to your confession of the gospel of Christ and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all,
while they also, by prayer on your behalf, yearn for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you.
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9: 10-15).
- There is no price we can ever place on a person’s salvation.
- There is never any amount of (total) time we should witness to someone who does not yet know Christ as LORD.
- There is no amount of ANYTHING that we can lay claim to for the “price” of someone’s soul, for someone’s eternal home.
- God Gave Most !!! God Gave His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Ultimate Sacrifice…..to Die For Each One of Us!
- His Salvation IS Indescribable!!!! A gift, a precious gift, a costly gift, offered…..FREELY…..to each person.
- God’s Eternal Home…..Heaven…..Prepared for Us. READY for US. OURS TO CLAIM…….Today.
Do we want this gift for those we love, for those we might meet, for those whose paths we might cross as we walk through this one day?
How much time in our day belongs to God?
How much money in our bank account and in our wallet is God’s?
How many decades of years, or months, and days, minutes, and even seconds are truly ours to claim?
What truly do we own?
What Most Definitely Does God Own?
What Does God Seek to Give (to those) Who Choose to Believe? What Does God Seek to Give (to those) Who Choose to Confess their Sins & Accept His Free Gift?
god gave most…..surely we can recognize that truth today.
What price could God ever place upon a lost one’s life?
God gave His Son so we might intimately know Him.
God loves each one of us…….That Much!!!
Today, we who already believe, have seeds to sow. Sowing as God Increases the Harvest. HIS Righteousness. Today, may we Scatter Seed Liberally & May We Be Bold for Christ Jesus, our LORD. May We Serve God With Open Hands, knowing that others may come to know God, TODAY and then “they will glorify God [because we were obedient to our confession] of the gospel of Christ…” (13).
YES, Let us see our “dream home” (HEAVEN) for what it truly is today—-Indescribable!!!
YES, Let us exclaim to those listening, “Come see. Come go with me.”
YES, Let us be bold in our witness, scattering ALL the seed God places inside our hands today, & YES, Let us never wish to return back to our temporary, rented home…..carrying seed with us.
GOD’S MOST WONDERFUL GIFT OF HIS SALVATION………………………………………………
GOD GAVE MOST…..”Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” (15).
