Have we ever sat outside on a sunny spring or summer day, maybe sipping from a glass of sweet tea? As we do, we notice God’s amazing nature. First we see a colorful butterfly flutter near a flower, noting how it hovers overtop the fragrance, never setting down, never settling in or landing on the flower. Then, our eyes are drawn to a bumble bee, and though our heartbeat immediately speeds up for fear of the “what could happen,” still we sit, silently observing how different the bee is from the butterfly. Where the butterfly hovered and fluttered, skimming over the surface of the flower, the bumblebee dove into the flower’s center, penetrating the surface, extracting the sweet nectar, the daily food.
Approach the Word of God just as the bumblebee.
May we “dive in deep, tasting,” and worship the LORD.
The psalmist wrote—
“On your feet now—applaud GOD!
(The Psalms 100: 1-5 The Message MSG)
Bring a gift of laughter,
sing yourselves into his presence.
Know this: GOD is God, and God, GOD.
He made us; we didn’t make him.
We’re his people, his well-tended sheep.
Enter with the password: “Thank you!”
Make yourselves at home talking praise.
Thank him. Worship him.
For GOD is sheer beauty,
all-generous in love, loyal always and ever.”
Joy overtakes sorrow.
Joy gives strength.
Joy cultivates growth.
Joy produces generosity.
GOD brings us through the storm.
HIS Good News changes our hearts and our lives.
May we taste and May our inner beings be utterly changed by the Holy One.
“Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth.
(The Psalms 100: 1-5 NASB)
Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before Him with joyful singing.
Know the LORD Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving
And His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
For the LORD is good;
His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations.”
