Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

With HIM, or Not

Man has a great need, and in fact, this need supersedes all others. However, some refuse or delay seeing this need deep within them.  In simplicity, JESUS is the greatest need humanity has within and JESUS is the truth which fills the deep void within man. The Reverend Billy Graham spoke of this as he described the three reactions all people make to the gospel message.  Graham said people either:  Accept the truth, Delay making a decision about the truth, or Deny the gospel’s truth.  Some even choose to take their denial and delay to their grave.  To the one who chooses to believe in Jesus, the decision others make to NOT believe is unfathomable because Christians know firsthand how accepting JESUS is the absolute truth.  They also realize that living the Christian life in the current culture can be both exhausting and exhilarating.

JESUS said:

“He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me, scatters.”

(The Gospel According to Luke 11: 23 NASB)

Either a person has faith or he does not.

Either someone will trust in Jesus Christ or he will not.

Either an individual will choose to believe the TRUTH or he will choose NOT to believe that TRUTH exists.

There is no middle ground.

As human beings, we are free to choose whether the Christian faith is for us or not, but we are NOT free to claim that the gospel message of Jesus is false.

The Gospel is the Absolute Truth!

Whether a person chooses to believe or not, the truth of the gospel remains.

Whether someone chooses to accept Jesus as Savior or not, the gospel message remains.  &

Whether an individual chooses to have faith or not, God’s free gift of salvation remains.

As Graham noted, everything hinges on the decision a person chooses to make, for “He who is not with Me [JESUS] is against Me; . . .”

Maybe you have read to this point and exclaim:  “I never said, ‘Jesus, go away from me’”; nevertheless, a decision to NOT choose JESUS as your SAVIOR means that one has chosen nonetheless.  In his denial, the person has chosen to deny JESUS.  Consider some of these possible situations—

Possibly there has been a time when you felt the presence of God’s Holy Spirit speaking to your being, but you denied the Spirit’s voice, deciding to turn away and refusing to listen.

Maybe there are some things in your life that you do not wish to let go of, and you have your reasons.  Thus, you are choosing to remain in your ‘old’ way of life rather than choosing to repent and turn to the ‘new’ way of life JESUS offers.

Could it be that your life is too full for church or anything that is connected to it?  Maybe you have even said, “I’m too busy right now, but when I have time, then I will look into JESUS and church.”  While it is true that one does not need the church to receive JESUS, it is also true that surrounding ourselves within the body of Christ allows us to repeatedly hear the Gospel message.  The body of Christ encourages and strengthens those who have received CHRIST as their SAVIOR.

Therefore, anyone who decides that he does not want to listen to God’s Holy Spirit, or who is unwilling to let go of the things of this world, or who is too busy for faith has already made his decision.  We either gather with JESUS or we do not, for “he who does not gather with Me, scatters.”

With HIM, or Not

Where are you?  Where am I?  Our choice to receive and follow JESUS is one that each person must make, for the end of our days on earth are an assurance.  We are born, we live, we die, and then comes our eternity. IT’S THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH!

We can delay our decision & We can deny our choice, and we will live forever in Hell, separated from JESUS’ presence in heaven.

OR

We can accept JESUS and follow HIM throughout our days, and live within HIS presence forever in heaven.

You & I have a choice to make.

The outcome of our decision has eternal consequences, so we must not deny nor delay but choose to Accept, Believe, and Confess faith in JESUS today.

JESUS said:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world,
but that the world might be saved through Him.
He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

(The Gospel According to John 3: 16-18 NASB)
