Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Proclaim the Truth—Advent

  • Jesus came to obey His Father’s will.
  • Jesus came to walk the path toward the cross.
  • All authority has been given to Jesus in heaven and on earth.

The psalmist calls to us to worship the LORD, the One who brings salvation, the LORD of lords and the KING of kings.

“Sing to the LORD a new song;
Sing to the LORD, all the earth.
Sing to the LORD, bless His name;
Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.
Tell of His glory among the nations,
His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.
. . .
Say among
[and to] the nations,
“The LORD reigns;
Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved;
He will judge the peoples with equity.”

(The Psalms 96: 1-3 & 10 NASB)

As the days of December march toward Christmas, as we prepare our hearts to worship the birth of Jesus (the 1st Advent, the 1st coming of Jesus), then we are reminded of the 2nd Advent, the coming day of Jesus the psalmist proclaimed.  We are called to watch for our Savior’s face, and we are reminded how—

  • Even in the middle of difficulty—SING.
  • Even in the middle of tough days—SING.
  • Even when life seems to crumble all around you—SING.
  • Even when health issues attack from every side—SING.
  • Everything the LORD created  &  Everyone the LORD fashioned—Is to Praise the LORD.

The skeptic, the one who does not believe, and the one who refuses to see the TRUTH questions:  Why?

The psalmist reminds us to look to the heavens, to be alert, to be watchful as we worship the LORD.  Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.  Remain worshipful before the throne of God, for He will keep you firmly planted.  Be committed to seek God in Scripture.  Stay connected to the LORD.  Talk with Him daily.  His Word never changes.

So, seasons of life may be heavy, your world may be falling apart, and you may ask:  “God, have you forgotten me?”  HE HASN’T.  Even though it may be difficult to find joy because of our present circumstances, we are to remember—

  • GOD IS AT WORK.
  • GOD IS FAITHFUL.
  • GOD REMAINS PRESENT WITH US.
  • THE LORD, THE MIGHTY ONE, THE VICTORIOUS WARRIOR—SAVES!

Let us rejoice with singing.

Jesus, who brings salvation, He is the LORD of lords and KING of kings.  Jesus is Coming! (again)

Today, be encouraged, and spend time in God’s Word.  Read—

The Revelation to John 5: 11-13 & 19: 11-16.

Be encouraged.

Jesus Is Coming! & It could be today!

“Let the field exult, and all that is in it.
Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy
Before the LORD, for He is coming,

[Let that sink in]
For He is coming to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
And the peoples in His faithfulness
[with HIS TRUTH].”

(The Psalms 96: 12-13 NASB)
