May We Not Be Deceived
The deceiver has just one goal. He seeks to question what God spoke to be true. If you live on earth, then like me, you see this untruth projected daily in the news media, in social media, and in every neighborhood. As a child who was taken to Sunday School even while still in the womb, I would just like to pause right here and say: “Thank you dad and mom,” for in the attendance of the study of God’s Word, the truth has been planted deep. However, if you did not receive the benefit of attending Bible study as a child but are attending now as a teen, young or older adult, then like me—We know the truth is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH! So, why do we still doubt the truth? When our world appears so twisted up in what’s right and what’s wrong, when everything seems upside down, and when mankind wants to believe love means we must accept everyone’s version of love to be true–Why must we?
To accept the devil’s lies is to disregard what the Bible speaks to be true.
“Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made.
(Genesis 3: 1 NASB)
And he said to the woman, “Indeed, has God said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?”
This is such a simple question: Has God said . . ., one that has been asked again and again since the beginning of time.
- Has God said—we should believe?
- Has God said—mankind should love God?
- Has God said—people should accept everything in this world to be true?
- Has God said—marriage can be acceptable in whatever way the world claims it to be?
- Has GOD said . . .?
Here’s the TRUTH, according to God’s Word.
“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; . . . .”
(Genesis 1: 26a & 27-28a NASB)
“God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him;
male and female He created them.
God blessed them;
and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, . . .”
- Created in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit’s image (Us)—that’s mankind.
- Created male and female—God made each person alive.
- Created and blessed and commanded to populate the earth—GOD said.
“The man gave names to all the cattle, and to the birds of the sky, and to every beast of the field,
(Genesis 2: 20-24 NASB)
but for Adam there was not found a helper suitable for him.
So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept;
then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place.
The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man,
and brought her to the man.
The man said, “This is now bone of my bones,
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”
For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother,
and be joined to his wife;
and they shall become one flesh.”
- It was God who made man in His image. &
- It was God who made woman from the rib taken from man. &
- It was God who established marriage between a man and woman. &
- It was God who made the woman who would be “a helper suitable for him” for man.
- However, it was the serpent (Satan) who was crafty and who questioned what God created. &
- It was the serpent (the devil) who twisted what God created and ordained. &
- It was the serpent (the deceiver) who wants everyone to question what GOD SAID TO BE TRUE!
Satan questioned God’s Holy Word & Yet God’s Amazing Grace, God’s Amazing Plan made a way for mankind to know the truth, and it is God’s Truth that Truly Sets Us Free from the lies of the devil.
Today, may we see the lies of the devil—the crafty serpent who has been present since the beginning of time. & May we see how our disobedience to God (our sin) makes us forget—What GOD said.
