Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

“Where’s your evidence?”

“Where’s your evidence?”

That’s the question I asked him yesterday as he sat on his mother’s lap.  He wiggled as only a four-year-old can wiggle, and I asked him again:

“Jay, where’s your evidence?”

My repeated question to his claim that he “knew” the family theme song was rewarded with a beautiful melody as he sang “their” song, one learned during his family’s vacation, and one that had been sung repeatedly throughout their holiday (enough so this four-year-old “knew” it by heart).

Consider the TRUTH found here.

During our HOLY-DAYS—days when we are fully-cognizant of God’s Amazing Grace, repeatedly we can sing our “learned” song, one that we sing together as the family of God.

This little boy displayed God’s goodness just by singing his little Texas song while wiggling around on his mother’s lap.  As I sit here this morning, recalling the beautiful Sunday evening shared and enjoying the wonderful reminder of God’s faithfulness, I am amazed by the KEPT PROMISES & BEAUTY OF OUR LORD!

In the Bible, we see the history, how after much time had passed (400+ years), and after living enslaved to the Egyptians, God spoke to His servant Moses.  First, he needed to get His servant’s attention, so God led him out into the desert, where Moses watched over his father-in-law’s sheep.  Then, when much time had passed, the LORD set afire a simple desert bush, not allowing the bush to be consumed.  After the LORD had his servant’s undivided attention, HE spoke, identifying Himself and reminding Moses of HIS KEPT PROMISES— GOD’S.

These promises had been witnessed by the ancestors of Moses, by those who came before Moses, for multiple generations.

“God said to Moses,

“I AM WHO I AM” ;

and He said,

“Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel,

‘I AM has sent me to you.’ “

“God, furthermore, said to Moses,

“Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel,

The LORD,

  • the God of your fathers,
  • the God of Abraham,
  • the God of Isaac,
  • and the God of Jacob,

has sent me to you.’

This is My name forever,

and this is My memorial-name to all generations.”

(Exodus 3: 14-15 NASB)

“Where’s your evidence of the LORD’S GOODNESS?”

  • Not just once, but over time, the LORD displays His promises to His servants.
  • Not just once, but over and over, the CREATOR keeps His promises to His people.

For multiple generations—GOD’S EVIDENCE HAS BEEN DISPLAYED FOR HIS PEOPLE TO SEE!
